ASSISTANT REGISTRAR
TEACHER OF MUSICAL THEATER VOICE (Faculty - Part-time)
ASSISTANT REGISTRAR
The Boston Conservatory is seeking a full-time Assistant Registrar to work collaboratively with the Registrar to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Office of the Registrar. The Assistant Registrar is most often a first point of contact for students, staff and faculty for major issues and thus an integral part of the office. This is an exempt (salaried) position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Process payment authorizations, order office supplies and maintain budget expenditures.
- Process requests for transcripts and enrollment information.
- Manage and accurately maintain student database and active and archived files.
- Receive and process all requests for services from students, faculty and staff in a courteous fashion and on a timely basis.
- Maintain advising manuals and materials.
- Enter data for grade changes, schedule changes, generate transcripts and class lists and update course schedules and student personal data.
- Supervise student workers.
- Develop and maintain communication regarding registration, grades, schedule changes and academic policy to staff, students and faculty.
- Provide general advising regarding degree requirements and academic policy to students and faculty.
- Collaborate with schools involved in the Pro-Arts consortium in the registering, reconciliation and grading process of students partaking in the Pro-Arts program.
- Collaborate with Registrar in developing and implementing office procedures and policy.
- Assist the Office of the Registrar with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate's degree or bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience working within a higher education environment is ideal, preferably with a focus in the arts.
- Must have an understanding of FERPA and sensitivity to issues of student confidentiality.
- Must be well versed in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, have a working knowledge of administrative computer systems and familiar with the maintenance of student records.
- Excellent communication skills, a strong customer-service orientation, ability to multi-task and handle a high traffic student service office.

TEACHER OF MUSICAL THEATER VOICE
(Faculty – Part-time)
The Boston Conservatory is seeking a part-time teacher of musical theater voice. This is a part-time, non-benefits-eligible position, beginning Fall semester 2008.
The faculty member will instruct undergraduate and graduate musical theater majors, providing 10-12 hours per week of individual studio voice lessons. The successful candidate will hold at least a master's degree and will possess significant knowledge of the musical theater repertoire as well as experience teaching the broad range of styles specific to musical theater.
