    Last day of classes, Institute for Music Education.

  • 29 (Thu)

    Residence Halls open at 9 a.m., new International student arrival and orientation.

  • 30 (Fri)

    Residence Halls open at 8 a.m., new undergraduate student arrival and orientation.

  • 31 (Sat)

    Residence Halls open at 9 a.m., new graduate student arrival and orientation.

September
  • 1 (Sun)

    Residence Halls open at 9 a.m., returning undergraduate and graduate student move-in; auditions begin for new and returning students (check divisional offices for details).

  • 2 (Mon)

    Labor Day; Library open 12-5 p.m.

  • 5 (Thu)

    Advising meeting for new students, Drop/Add period begins for all students.

  • 9 (Mon)

    First day of classes, fall semester.

  • 20 (Fri)

    Last day of Drop/Add; withdrawal period begins; last day to drop a class without financial implications.

October
  • 14 (Mon)

    Columbus Day; no classes; Library closed.

  • 15 (Tue)

    Monday Class Schedule.

  • 21 (Mon)

    Faculty issue midterm warnings to students.

November
  • 4 (Mon)

    Advising and Registration Period begins (for Spring 2014).

  • 11 (Mon)

    Veterans’ Day; classes as usual.

  • 26 (Tue)

    Last day to withdraw from a class with a “W” grade. NO CHANGES TO CLASS SCHEDULE AFTER THIS DATE.

  • 11/27 – 12/1

    Thanksgiving Recess; Residence Halls remain open.

December
  • 2 (Mon)

    Classes Resume

  • 13 (Fri)

    Last Day of Classes, Fall Semester

  • 14 (Sat)

    Examinations and Juries begin.

  • 20 (Fri)

    Examinations end, dining services close after dinner.

  • 21 (Sat)

    Residence halls close at noon. Semester break begins.

January

    Drop/Add begins.

  • 20 (Mon)

    Martin Luther King Day; Library and all offices closed; Residence Halls open at noon; Dining services open with dinner.

  • 21 (Tue)

    New Student Orientation and Registration; Proficiency/Placement exams and Auditions.

  • 22 (Wed)

    First day of classes, spring semester;

February
  • 4 (Tue)

    Last day of Drop/Add; withdrawal period begins; last day to drop a class without financial implications.

  • 17 (Mon)

    President’s Day. Classes as usual; Library is open, most offices closed.

  • 21 (Fri)

    No classes.

March
  • 3 (Mon)

     Spring Recess; Residence Halls remain open.

    Classes resume after Spring Recess.
