Experimental Musical Theater Intensive Faculty

Alli Ross identifies as both a performing and teaching artist having recently worked with London's Punchdrunk in NYC after joining the original British cast in Sleep No More last year with the American Repertory Theater, originating the role of Lady Macduff.  The fall of 2011 brings her back to the classroom where she will be working with Liz Lerman and building curriculum at Harvard.  Currently she is interested in making work with focus on the connection between movement, breath, sound and speech.  Other performance work includes collaborations with Fresh Killed Theater and Carey Foster, Swan Day 2010-Supporting Women Artists Now, Chimera Lab/Jennifer Hicks, Marjorie Morgan, and Jimena Bermejo. Other huge inspiration comes from Deborah Hay's Solo Commissioning Project 2000 and the teachings of Debra Bluth, Ruth Zaporah and the Body-Cartography Project. Awarded a space grant through Green Street Studios, Ross premiered original works "Bubbasafiss" and "50-meter freestyle." She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Dance and an Ed.M in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is also a Licensed Movement Educator in the State of MA.
