Denise Pons has been a member of New Orleans’ Delta Festival Ballet, Fort Worth Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and the Eglevsky Ballet. She joined Boston Ballet in 1982 and was promoted to soloist in 1985. In addition to dancing such notable roles as Swanilda in Coppelia and Myrtha in Giselle, she performed leading roles in the world premieres of Mark Moris’ Mort Subite and Elisa Monte’s VII for VIII. In 1990 she was chosen by Mark Morris and Mikhail Baryshnikov as one of the eight dancers who became the founding members of the White Oak Dance Project.
