Helen Deborah Lewis

Modern Drama Faculty

Ph.D, M.A., Tufts University; B.A., Brandeis University. Research interests include musical theatre, 19th-century American theatre, queer performance, gender studies, popular entertainment, theatre pedagogy, and performance historiography.

Lewis has taught previously at Marlboro College, the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and Tufts University. She has presented at numerous national academic conferences including the American Society for Theatre Research, the Mid-America Theatre Conference, the Canadian Association for Theatre Research, and the Popular Culture Association. At Tufts, Lewis received the award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education.
