James Javore

Voice Faculty

James Javore earned his B.S. in Mus.Ed. and his B.M. and M.M. in performance from the University of Illinois in Urbana. He completed studies with James Bailey, coaching with John Wustman, Paul Ulanowsky, David Garvey and Eric Dalheim, and opera with Ludwig Zirner and Alan Thomas. Additional studies were completed at Goldovsky Opera Institute, American Conservatory (Chicago) and Northwestern University.

Javore has performned in more than 60 operas, 30 musicals, and 25 oratorios. He has given recitals throughout the U.S., Canada, Japan and Europe, performing in venues such as Avery Fisher, Alice Tully, Carnegie, 92nd Street Y and Merkin concert halls. He has appeared with the New York City, Chautauqua, Chicago Lyric, Cleveland, Connecticut, Goldovsky and Hawaii Operas, as well as the New York Philharmonic and the Baltimore, Chautauqua, Columbus, Hartford, Iceland, Portland and West Virginia symphony orchestras under the direction of conductors such as Solti, Boulez, Robert Shaw, Skitch Henderson, Victor Borge and Eve Queler.

Javore's Broadway credits include King David. Off-Broadway credits include The Mother Of Us All and Lust. He has also performed with regional theaters, such as the Huntington Theater Company, Long Wharf, Paper Mill Playhouse, Coconut Grove Playhouse, St. Louis Muny and North Shore Music Theatre. His tours include The Secret Garden and Phantom. Javore's television appearances have been on Law And Order and Oz, and his film appearances include The Godfather III, Thomas Crown Affair, You've Got Mail and Center Stage. Cantor, St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Javore is faculty at Concordia College (Bronxville), AMDA, LaGuardia High School For The Performing Arts and Riverdale Music Studio. He has given master classes at The Boston Conservatory Summer Vocal/ Choral Intensive (VCI), Dordt College, Wayne State University, Panama City Junior College, Valdosta State University, Buena Vista College, Concordia College and Northwestern College (Iowa).
