Due to weather, The Boston Conservatory will CLOSE at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 5. During this time, all classes are canceled and all offices are closed. Performances and rehearsals scheduled for tonight will continue as planned, and practice rooms on campus will remain open and available to students. Updates will be posted to www.bostonconservatory.edu/alerts as available. Please note that Admissions auditions scheduled for February 6 and 7 will continue as planned.

Jim Viera

Modern Technique Faculty

As a professional dancer, Jim Viera has toured nationally as a principal dancer with Jazzdance: The Danny Buraczeski Dance Company and the Marcus Schulkind Dance Company. In addition to teaching at The Boston Conservatory, he has been on the faculty of Harvard University, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and The Boston Summer Dance Festival, and he serves as artistic director of Boston Youth Moves at The Jeannette Neill Dance Studio, a pre-professional teen dance program he founded. As a choreographer for ACE Entertainment, Viera has choreographed opening numbers for Rita Moreno, Gregory Hines, Grace Jones and Harry Connick, Jr., as well as industrial films for Digital Equipment and live industrial presentations for Intellution, Champion/Jogbra, PUMA, Jordan’s Furniture and EMC Corporation.
