Ron Roy

Musical Theater Pianist/Coach

Ron Roy earned his B.M. in piano performance from the University of New Hampshire and completed post-graduate piano studies at the New England Conservatory (NEC) under the direction of David Deveau. His song and text studies include Roy Hart Theater of France, celebrated actor Alvin Epstein and director Bill Castellino.

Roy's Off-Broadway credits include Disappearing Act and Forbidden Broadway, as well as numerous cabaret shows at Don’t Tell Mama, Danny’s Skylight Room, Eighty Eights and La MaMa. Additional credits include Boston Concert Opera, Boston Academy of Music.

Roy's musical director credits include Forbidden Broadway (ongoing), Forever Plaid, Crazy For You (International Tour) and Forbidden Hollywood (Chicago, Tokyo). He has worked on collaborations with the Huntington Theatre Company and the Pilgrim Theatre Company, and he isa recipient of the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Accompanist. Roy also served as guest artist with the Ariel Group, an international organization unique in its use of music in developing leadership skills to members of multi-national corporations around the globe.

Over the past 25 years, Roy has served as pianist and coach for a wide variety of performers, ranging from classical to pop and jazz. He is an ongoing faculty member of The Tuscany Project, an annual summer voice intensive workshop in Italy, and currently serves a pianist and coach for the Theater Department at The Boston Conservatory.
