Home/ Yoichi UdagawaYoichi Udagawa earned a B.A. from the University of Texas in Austin and has completed studies at the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. His teachers have included Gunther Schuller, Seiji Ozawa, Morihiro Okabe and Henry Charles Smith.
Udagawa is currently music director and conductor for the Cape Ann, Melrose and Quincy symphony orchestras in Massachusetts. He also serves as a cover conductor for the Boston Pops. Udagawa’s previous positions include rehearsal assistant to Christopher Hogwood at the Handel and Haydn Society, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, the Austin Community Symphony and the Austin Chamber Symphony. He has also appeared as a guest conductor with the Nobeoka Philharmonic, the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, the Garden State Philharmonic, the Mid-Texas Symphony and the Indian Hill Symphony.
