On-Campus Student Employment

The Boston Conservatory has numerous opportunities for students to work on campus. Student employment openings are listed in the jobs section of The Boston Conservatory website.  All students interested in employment should review The Boston Conservatory's Student Employment Procedures and Responsibilities.

There are two forms of student employment, Federal Work Study (FWS) and the Conservatory Work Program (CWP). Students who are eligible for work study positions have received a Federal Work Study award as part of their financial aid package. All other students are eligible for Conservatory employment.

New Student Employment

We recommend that all students who are considering working on campus complete the payroll forms prior to arriving on campus. This will give each student an opportunity to discuss how to complete the paperwork with their parents and ensure each student brings the correct documents to campus. Each student will then attend a MANDATORY employment meeting during orientation which will instruct the student in the next steps to finding employment. On the first day of classes, job descriptions for available jobs will be posted on this web page.

2014 Payroll Forms

Please obtain this packet by printing each document below, or you can get a printed packet in the Human Resources Office loctated on the first floor of 8 The Fenway. The packet will then be handed in, along with either a valid passport, or a photo ID and either a social security card or birth certificate, to Carrie Bourque in Human Resources.

Remember to:

  • Remove the "All-Conservatory Harassment Policy," "Title IX Policies" and the “Violence in the Workplace Policy,” retaining them for your future reference.
  • Sign and date each form where indicated, paying special attention to the W-4 (federal tax withholding), M-4 (state tax withholding) and the I-9 (Employment Eligibility) forms.
  • Please view the back of the I-9 form to assist you in determining which types of identification are required to determine your employment eligibility.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance in completing the packet, please do not hesitate to contact us. We wish you much success in your student employment with The Boston Conservatory! Thank you.
