Conservatory College

As a worldwide leader in performing arts education, it is our responsibility to address the evolving professional landscape of the performing arts. We have done so by establishing the Conservatory College, a new division of the school that offers academic programs, which are complementary to our core areas of music, dance and musical theater. These new, interrelated programs connect with and build upon our traditional performing arts programs for a one-of-a-kind academic experience.

About the Conservatory College

Recognizing that the landscape of professional arts is changing, The Boston Conservatory has announced the Conservatory College, a new academic division that offers degree programs complementary to its core performance curriculum of music, dance and musical theater.

As the nation’s oldest performing arts conservatory, this new division will enhance the Conservatory’s core academic programs, fulfill new student interests and expand the school’s breadth of offerings.

Beginning in September 2015, the Conservatory College will roll out a variety of new degrees in or related to performing arts, which can be completed in various lengths of time or with low residency. These programs include a B.F.A. in Contemporary Theater, a B.F.A. in Multidisciplinary Stage Management, a B.F.A. in Dance—Walnut Hill Partnership Program and new autism-specific programs in Music Education. Additional programs will be added as the new division evolves.

The Conservatory College is yet another example of how we help our students prepare to perform at the highest level, whether on stage, in the classroom or behind the scenes. Learn more about our new offerings below.
