Prior to his appointment as President of Curtis Institute of Music in 2006, Roberto Díaz was principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and National Symphony, as well as a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Díaz received an honorary doctorate from Bowdoin College and was awarded honorary membership by the national board of the American Viola Society.

Díaz will present a masterclass to Boston Conservatory viola students on Monday, October 20 in Studio 401 from 7–9 p.m.; this event is free and open to the public.
