Facilities Security

An automated access-control system is monitored by a Public Safety Officer 24-hours a day. Students, faculty, staff, and invited guests are granted card access to academic, rehearsal and administrative facilities, and the Student Center during designated building hours. Lost or stolen access cards must be reported to the Registrar’s Office immediately. There is a fee of $20 for the replacement of lost of stolen cards. Campus grounds and buildings are patrolled by Public Safety Officers. Patrols include the perimeters, lobbies, practice facilities, and other common areas of the buildings. All residence halls are secured 24-hours a day, and all buildings are equipped with card access. In addition, the residence halls are patrolled by officers throughout the night. Guests are allowed in the residence halls, according to the guidelines and procedures published in the Residence Life Handbook. All facilities are equipped with fire detection and alert systems which are connected to a central monitoring station.
