Boston Civic Symphony
 FOR THE BOSTON CIVIC SYMPHONY 2014-15 SEASON Auditions for the Boston Civic Symphony's 2014-2015 season will take place on August 30, August 31, and September 6 at the New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall. While we are primarily an all-volunteer orchestra, there are some scholarships available for current students. Please contact the Personnel Manager at to request an audition time and check out for more information on the 2014-2015 season. CURRENT OPENINGS For the 2014-2015 season, we will be auditioning for the following vacancies: Principal Cello Principal Bass 3rd Flute/Piccolo Principal Oboe 3rd Horn 4th Horn Principal Tuba Percussion We will also be auditioning for section players in all string sections and substitute/extra musicians in all wind sections. REHEARSALS Boston Civic Symphony rehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7–10pm, September through April. There is also a rehearsal on the Saturday afternoon from 2–5 pm on the day before each concert and from 10–12 pm on concert days. Rehearsals are held at the Devotion School in Brookline, MA. AUDITION MATERIAL • a short solo, preferably from a concerto • two or three orchestral excerpts, preferably from our season’s program • sightreading TO REQUEST AN AUDITION To request an audition time, please e-mail the Personnel Manager at Applicants will be heard by our audition committee, which consists of the music director, assistant conductor, and other section leaders.
