Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading 239 Woburn Street Reading, MA 01867 www.uureading.org PIANIST/ORGANIST JOB SUMMARY: The Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading, a vibrant, liberal, 312 member congregation, serving communities north of Boston, seeks a Pianist/Organist to provide music for Sunday morning Worship Services and accompany both a 30+ voice choir and vocal or instrumental soloists. The Pianist/Organist will report to the Choir Director and Senior Minister. Please see detailed job description at http://uureading.org/accompsearch. REQUIREMENTS: Thursday evening choir rehearsal 7:30-9pm Sunday Morning Services & choir warm-up 8:00am until 12:30 pm Christmas Eve, Special Services and occasional other rehearsals as needed Collaborate with the Choir Director and Senior minister regarding musical choices for Worship Services MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High level of keyboard proficiency in a variety of musical styles; some organ playing required. Must be able to sight-read and read open score. Improvisational skills are HIGHLY desirable. Experience in accompanying both choral and soloist rehearsals Good people and communication skills Familiarity with liberal religion in general PRINCIPLES The Pianist/Organist will be expected to abide by Denomination and Church Policies as regards respectful and appropriate behavior toward all Staff and Congregation members. HOURS: 14 hrs/week 40-week church year, September – June, with 5 Sundays flexible vacation time. COMPENSATION: $10,963.47 annually, paid biweekly BEGIN: September 2014 or when filled.
