The New England Philharmonic has the following openings for the 2013-2014 Season: Violin Viola Cello Bass 2nd Flute 2nd Clarinet 2nd Horn 4th Horn *Bass Trumpet 2nd Trombone *4th Trombone *Euphonium Tuba Harp * Just for the October 26th performance of Janacek's Sinfonietta All other instruments are invited to audition for our substitute list. To schedule an audition, please send resume to: AUDITIONS@NEPHILHARMONIC.ORG Auditions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 4th and 5th from 7 to 10pm at the Boston University College of Fine Arts, 855 Commonwealth Avenue. Audition requirements are two pieces or excerpts of the performer's choice from standard repertoire (one technical, one lyrical) plus some sight-reading. You may also prepare some orchestral excerpts if you wish, but they are not required. Committed to playing the best music of the past and the present, the New England Philharmonic is lead by Richard Pittman, Music Director, and comprised of volunteer professional musicians from the Boston area. It thrives on the exhilarating moments when composer, performer, and audience share the same time and space. The New England Philharmonic won an ASCAP Award for Adventurous Programming last year, making the tenth time the NEP has won this prestigious award. Highlights of our four-concert series include world premieres of two full-length commissioned works, collaborations with notable soloists, a family concert featuring the Boston Children's Chorus, and compositions by contemporary masters, as well as major works of Janacek, Shostakovich, and Prokofiev.
