How to Apply for Financial Aid
Application Process
All students who wish to be considered for any form of scholarship or financial aid must first complete The Boston Conservatory’s Application for Admission.
To become eligible for federal financial aid, students are required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The deadline for the processed FAFSA information is March 1.
You should file the FAFSA electronically at www.fafsa.ed.gov by February 15, two weeks prior to the deadline. The hard copy FAFSA should be mailed at least four to six weeks before the deadline. These deadlines apply to all forms of aid; merit-based, need-based and non-need based. You do NOT have to have filed your tax return in order to fill out the FAFSA. You may use estimated income information to make the deadline and make corrections later.
Federal Code Number
The Federal Code Number for The Boston Conservatory is 002129.
Scholarship and Financial Aid resources may be awarded individually or in combination, depending on the applicant's needs and qualifications. While the Conservatory is unable to meet the financial needs of all who apply, every effort is made to distribute funds as equitably as possible so that the greatest number may benefit.
New students must apply to the Conservatory by no later than December 1 and should have the Free Application for Federal Student Aid processed by March 1. Scholarship and Financial Aid notifications are mailed along with the Admissions Office notifications.
Returning students must have the Free Application for Federal Student Aid processed by May 1. Scholarship and Financial Aid notifications are mailed in mid June.
Students who are applying for Conservatory Scholarships only do not have to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
