 JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Type of Employment:    Work Study – or – Conservatory Employment

Department:                      Advancement Office / 400 Commonwealth Ave,  Fl 2

Supervisor:                         Advancement Associate

Work Hours:                       Depending on student schedule and award, 5-10 hours per week; some weeknights and weekends possible; both on- and off-campus events

 

General Statement of Job Functions

The Advancement Office (which includes the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations, Marketing, and Development) is responsible for raising critically-needed funds for the Conservatory, including student scholarships, general operating funds, productions and performances, building projects, etc. 

In support of this effort, the Student Worker will perform general office duties, including short- or long-term projects.   S/he may also be asked to assist as a “Student Host” for special Conservatory events.   

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Update information in donor database
  • Assist with large mailings and various administrative projects
  • General filing, faxing, photocopying, mail retrieval, etc.
  • Set-up / breakdown support for special events

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with general office work a plus
  • Data entry skills and fluency in Microsoft Office (Excel) required
  • Ability to comfortably interact with both large and small groups of people
  • Excellent phone and communication skills
  • Dependable, trustworthy, punctual, with an outstanding work ethic
  • Pleasant manner and sense of humor a must

Compensation

  • $8 per hour
