Professional Apprentice Program - Arden Theatre Company

We are writing to let you know about our Professional Apprentice Program at Arden Theatre Company. The Arden presents programs for the diverse greater Philadelphia communities that arouse, provoke, challenge, illuminate and inspire.

Arden Theatre Company's Professional Apprentice Program is an intensive, season-long program that trains future theatre leaders in every facet of running a non-profit theatre. Apprentices learn from a dedicated staff of professional artists and administrators who are committed to training future theatre leaders.

The Arden Professional Apprentice (APA) Program is one of the most exceptional theatre training programs in the country. We provide comprehensive knowledge of the inner workings of a LORT theatre. APAs work in every aspect of the Arden's operations including Marketing, Development, Front of House, Artistic, General Management, Production, Education and Stage Management.  Designed to encourage the industry's future leaders, this well-rounded and hands-on experience prepares APAs as they begin their careers in local and national performing arts communities. Ideal candidates will have a broad-based interest in theatre and enthusiastic approach to learning.

The APA training program is a full-time plus commitment. The program begins in late August 2014 and runs through the middle of June 2015. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.  The program offers a salary of $400 per week, health insurance, paid time off, complimentary tickets to Arden Theatre Company productions, understudy opportunities, EMC credit, and the opportunity to meet and network with members of the Philadelphia community.

If you have any current students or alumni that you believe would work well in a program of this nature, please pass this information on to them. If you have any questions about the program, feel free to contact Maureen Mullin Fowler at 215-922-8900 ext. 28  or visit for more information and students can visit to apply.
