Web Manager

General Statement of Job Functions
The web manager will support, maintain, and extend our Drupal 7 and Sharepoint websites. This person will also maintain the technology infrastructure behind other websites and applications The Boston Conservatory uses.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will…
  • Take ownership for individual projects and work with the IT Team and our internal customers to implement systems and process changes and work in support of other technology team member efforts on similar projects.
  • Manage timely and consistent communication of project priorities, status, timelines, and deliverables to the internal teams, system vendors and our internal customers.
  • Work with our Help Desk team to resolve open issues and ensure effective customer service.
Qualifications
Web Operations:
  •  - 1-3 years experience administering and maintaining web applications on a Drupal site or 3 years managing a similar open source platform. Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading modules and core.
  •  - Experience with Drupal, HTML, CSS, MySQL, Linux systems administration, shell scripting, php, and apache.
  •  - Comfortable working in "view source," not WYSIWYG editors, for HTML, Javascript, jQuery.
  • Experience in higher ed and/or the performing arts a plus.
Project and Product Management:
  •  - Experience managing the development of web applications including gathering requirements from business users, creating and executing an agile or hybrid agile development approach, testing and troubleshooting bugs and performance issues, and managing a roadmap of prioritized feature enhancements.
  •  - Experience managing the software development lifecycle using tools like Pivotal Tracker Agile Project Management software and Git version control.
  •  - Experience with taxonomy and information architecture, usability, design principles: ability to prototype solutions to clarify needs and design a solution.
  • User Support and Training
  •  - Experience designing and leading short group training sessions on how to use

  • Project management and coordination skills.
  • Experience working within a college or university setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 - 3 years related work experience required.
Physical Requirements:
While some elements of the job are sedentary, the employee will be required to move throughout the Conservatory campus.
