The Boston Conservatory Albert Alphin Library houses a specialized collection of books, scores, journals, sound recordings and electronic databases supportive of the curricula at the Conservatory. The collection focuses on the areas of music performance, music history and literature, music education, opera, musical theater, world drama, dance history, dance notation and dance choreography. Additionally, there is a representative core collection of college level books in the liberal arts.

To support and enhance the instruction, research, and informational needs of The Boston Conservatory community by acquiring, maintaining, and preserving access to materials and information in a variety of formats in the areas of dance, music, drama, and liberal arts.

Library Resources

The Albert Alphin Library is located on the second floor of the main administration building at 8 The Fenway.

Hours of Operation

Regular Semester Hours*
*The Library will end regular semester hours on May 9, 2014.  

Monday–Wednesday: 8 a.m.–11 p.m.
Thursday: 8 a.m. –10 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
Saturday: 12 p.m.–5 p.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m.–10 p.m.

Monday, April 21: Closed, Patriot's Day
Friday, May 9: Last day of regular semester hours
Saturday-Sunday, May 10-11: Closed
Monday-Friday, May 12-16: 9am-5pm
