• Attendance is required at every class.
• Late arrival to class is counted as an absence.
• Two unexcused absences drop the final grade by 10%.
• Three unexcused absences result in a final grade of F.
• A maximum of two excused absences is allowed at the discretion of the instructor.
• Documentation for excused absences must be presented to the instructor within one week of the missed class, if documentation is not provided the absence will be marked as unexcused.
• In the case of an emergency students should contact the instructor by email or telephone within 24 hours of the missed class.
• The following are acceptable excused absences:
     Illness (with a doctor’s note)
     Audition (with advance notice)
Family emergency (email from Dean’s office to verify)
Religious observance (email from Dean’s office to verify)
• Doctor’s appointments should not be scheduled for times when classes meet.
• In the case of a missed class quiz or assignment the instructor may, at his or her discretion, offer a make-up time. Failure to attend this make-up session will result in a grade of F for this quiz.
• The Conservatory has priority over outside activities such as participating in orchestral or individual performances, it also has priority over social events such as weddings, when the student is not a family member.
• Students are expected to be available for classes on all days that school is in session. If travel plans cause a class session to be missed that absence will be considered unexcused.
