Your Training
Every aspect of your brass training at The Boston Conservatory focuses on you and your professional readiness, with the added benefit of low teacher-to-student ratio. Specific performance issues of brass instruments are addressed in weekly seminar classes, where students are given the opportunity to perform. Your non-traditional brass training includes classes in Alexander Technique, jazz improvisation and career skills.

Your Teachers
You will work and study with professional artists. The brass faculty includes members of the Boston Symphony, Boston Pops, Boston Ballet and Boston Lyric Opera orchestras, as well as today’s most active solo and chamber musicians. Recent guest artists have included trumpeter, George Vosburgh (Pittsburgh Symphony), trombonist Joe Alessi (New York Philharmonic) and tubist Gene Pokomy (Chicago Symphony).

Your Performance Opportunities
The variety of performance opportunities here gives you professional experience. During your stay at The Boston Conservatory, you perform with The Boston Conservatory Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, chamber group and the Orchestra Repertoire class. In addition to your solo recitals, you will have the opportunity to play in the pit orchestra for opera, dance and theater productions.
