Undergraduate Percussion

MU103, MU203, MU303, MU403, Percussion Ensemble. 

Area seminars provide a locus for student and faculty performances, general instruction in instrumental playing, preparation for the profession, work in audition techniques, and guest master classes. Percussion majors enroll in the Percussion seminar during the third and fourth years of the program.

2 hours weekly; 1 credit

MU492 Percussion Pedagogy. 

The study of principles and practices of percussion music teaching. A discussion of methods, materials, references, and resources is followed by guided classroom work with private students. Course instructors may, at their discretion, assign external teaching work in the community to individual students as needed to reinforce the course curriculum/course objectives.
