Is it your dream to be a triple threat on Broadway? The Boston Conservatory's Musical Theater Dance Intensive (MTDI) offers talented young dancers the opportunity to deepen their skills and challenge their abilities as they work with Broadway veterans and acclaimed faculty in rigorous training in ballet, jazz and theater dance. The dance program is complemented with classes in voice and acting to build triple threat performers.

Students will emerge from this three-week intensive with increased technical abilities in ballet, jazz and theater dance, improved skills in choral ensemble work, and greater confidence in and understanding of acting skills and how they apply to "acting the song."

Students and professionals ages 15–25 with significant dance experience.

Application Requirements

• Online application
• Live audition (recommended) OR video audition (to be uploaded onto  DecisionDesk).
• Live auditions consist of dance only. Audition dates and times below.
• Video auditions are due May 31, 2013 and must be a one-minute unedited dance piece in the style of musical theater, jazz and/or ballet highlighting your technique and musicality.  
• One artistic resume
• One head shot
• One letter of recommendation from a dance teacher

Application Tips:

• Applicants submitting video should be sure the recordings are appropriately lit and are in focus.
• Applicants who choose to submit a recorded audition should make every effort to have the best possible recording made of their audition performance.  
• Applicants are encouraged to introduce themselves and provide any information they would like to convey to the faculty.

2013 Tuition and Fees

Application Fee: $65 by April 15, 2013; $100 between April 16 and May 15, 2013

Tuition: $2250

Specials: $4250 Six Week Summer Dance Special (three weeks of Summer Dance Intensive AND three weeks of Musical Theater Dance Intensive; students must meet audition requirements of BOTH programs)

HOUSING & MEALS (optional): $1900

MEALS ONLY (optional): $750
