Coming Soon: Merrily We Roll Along

The Boston Conservatory Presents Merrily We Roll Along

Stephen Sondheim & George Furth’s Timeless Musical Runs March 5-8, 2014

(BOSTON—Feb. 20, 2014) Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s legendary musical, Merrily We Roll Along, hits the stage at The Boston Conservatory from March 5-8. The show features some of Sondheim’s best known songs, including “Not a Day Goes By,” “Old Friends,” “Our Time” and “Opening Doors.”

Based on the 1934 play of the same name, the story runs backward in time from 1976 to 1955 and examines the lives of three best friends as their relationships are tested by time, events, ambitions and fate.

“This is a cautionary tale that expertly illustrates the challenges that come with fame and success,” says Paul Daigneault, director of Merrily We Roll Along and a member of the musical theater faculty at The Boston Conservatory. “The show explores the importance of holding onto your dreams and morals. As such, directing a group of college-aged students on the brink of starting their careers in this performance is extremely poignant.”

This production of Merrily We Roll Along stars musical theater majors Andrew Tighe as Franklin Shepard, Paige Berkovitz as Mary Flynn and Connor Baty as Charley Kringas.

Merrily We Roll Along will be performed at The Boston Conservatory Theater at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5 through Saturday, March 8, 2014, along with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets are $25 for regular seating and $30 for premium; they are available for purchase now through The Boston Conservatory Box Office: (617) 912-9222 and www.bostonconservatory.edu/tickets.
