Welcome Note

Dear Family and Friends,

Now that classes have started and fall has arrived, we would like to extend an official invitation to join us for this year’s Family & Friends Weekend, featuring an array of performances, receptions and opportunities to visit with your student.

This year’s event takes place Friday, October 18–Sunday, October 20.  Highlights of the weekend include:

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2013:

    • ALL-DAY Opportunities to attend and observe select classes at The Boston Conservatory
    • TBD "I got an arts degree...now what?" Alumni Panel (open to Students and Parents)
    • 6 p.m. Dinner reception & check-in at the Back Bay Hilton Hotel. 
    • NOTE: This will be your opportunity pick up performance tickets to the 2 p.m. performance of OKLAHOMA! and the weekend event schedule.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2013:

    • 8:30 a.m. Parents Association breakfast and meeting.
    • ALL-DAY Performances by students from all divisions.
    • 2 p.m. Performance of OKLAHOMA! at The Boston Conservatory Theater.

      * The Saturday 2 p.m. performance of OKLAHOMA! is a special performance for Family & Friends Weekend only. If you are interested in purchasing tickets for any other show time, please contact the Box Office directly at (617) 912-9222. 

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2013:

    • 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Farewell brunch at the Back Bay Hilton


We are very excited about this year’s Family & Friends Weekend and hope that you will be able to join us! 

Registration deadline is October 4, 2013. Theater tickets will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Pricing details, registration, and further information for Family & Friends Weekend is listed below.

10 a.m.-2 p.m. — Check-In at the Student Center, 24 The Fenway, Lower Level

Pick up your schedule and tickets to the 2 p.m. performance of OKLAHOMA!*

6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. — Welcome Dinner Reception at the Hilton Boston Back Bay Hotel, 40 Dalton St, Boston, MA.  Pick up your schedule and tickets to the 2 p.m. performance of Oklahoma!* if you were unable to make the morning check in.

*If you purchased the ticket package.

Please note:

8 The Fenway is open to Family & Friends; other buildings are locked by card access. Please make sure you attend the classes in locked buildings with your student.  Classroom sizes vary across division and usually are not meant to accommodate large groups. Make sure to arrive on time in order to participate.

3 p.m.-4 p.m.Topping Out Ceremony at 132 Ipswich Street

It's a big day for The Boston Conservatory! The Conservatory and Shawmut Construction are hosting a "topping out" ceremony to commemorate this construction milestone for the new academic/studio building at 132 Ipswich Street as the building’s structure is completed.  During the ceremony, people can sign one of the last steel beams to be erected for the building. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.

*Attendees will receive general admission tickets to the Saturday matinee performance of OKLAHOMA! when they check-in on Friday morning in The Student Center 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or at the Friday evening welcome reception.  If you are unable to attend the Friday morning check-in time or the Friday evening reception, your tickets will be held at will call in the lobby of the theater before the performance.
