Boston Conservatory Presents Factory Girls

The Boston Conservatory Theater Ensemble presents a workshop production of Factory Girls, June 3-5, 2011 (8pm Friday-Saturday, 2pm on Sunday) at the Burgoyne Theater at Lowell High School in Lowell, MA and June 9-12, 2011 (8pm Thursday-Saturday, 2pm Sunday) at the newly-renovated Boston Conservatory Theater, 31 Hemenway St., in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood.

Boston Conservatory to Honor Tommy Tune & Diane Paulus

The Boston Conservatory will honor director, choreographer and performer Tommy Tune, as well as director Diane Paulus, at its 143rd commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14 at 2 p.m. at the Back Bay Events Center in Boston. There will be 198 degrees awarded, including 119 Bachelors, 58 Masters, 18 Graduate Performance Diplomas and three Professional Studies Certificates. In addition The Boston Conservatory will present its Distinguished Alumni Award to Lily Afshar (BM, Guitar, ’81).

Boston Conservatory Announces Grand Opening Performance

The Boston Conservatory, the oldest performing arts conservatory in the nation, today announces a series of celebratory performances and events to commemorate the grand opening of the Conservatory’s new and improved theater building. Marking the Conservatory’s first major facilities project in 50 years, the “Hemenway Project” is a $32 million, 16-month-long renovation and expansion project that effectively adds 16,000 new square feet of rehearsal and performance space to the building, as well as a completely renovated, state-of-the-art 300-seat theater with new orchestra pit, air conditioning and a host of technical upgrades and accoutrements.

The Boston Conservatory Announces Fall Season

The Boston Conservatory offers award-winning, affordable, high-quality performances by students, faculty and guest artists throughout the school year. Among the offerings for the fall 2010 season: new installments of the wildly popular "Piano Masters" and “String Masters” series, a festival of new music, the Dance Division celebrates Nikolais, Sweeney Todd, and Twelfth Night, plus performances of classical music, theater and opera, including programming specifically geared to children.
