Orientation Leader Application

Boston Conservatory Orientation Leaders Fall 2012

Orientation Leaders (O. L.'s) play an important role in presenting a positive image to new students and parents. They also provide an informed introduction to The Boston Conservatory community. O. L's will assist in all aspects of Orientation including serving as a group leader, facilitating social activities, leading group discussions, conducting tours, and much more.  In addition, O. L's will have the option of representing the school later in the year as an Admissions Ambassador for which they will receive an additional hourly payment.

ORIENTATION LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES:
 * Attend scheduled dates:
               -Spring Meeting 
               -Fall Training 
               -Participate in Fall Orientation activities
 * Create a positive and supportive atmosphere for parents, new students, and guests
 * Lead assigned activities and group meetings
 * Assist in the preparation of Orientation programs
 * Serve as a role model for new students

Orientation Leaders also have the option of being Ambassadors during the spring semester.  In this role, they are responsible for all duties listed above in addition to the following:
 * Assist the Admissions Office during on campus audition days during the spring semester
 * Answer questions from parents, potential students, and guests
 * Provide campus tours

CANDIDATES MUST:
 * Serve as a positive role model and student leader
 * Have a friendly, welcoming, and accepting manner 
 * Be flexible, mature, responsible, and excel at time management skills
 * Work well in a team environment
 * Maintain a positive attitude, willingness to get to know new people, and a readiness to have fun!

COMPENSATION:
 * A stipend of $350
 * All meals during training
 * Option to live in residence halls for a portion of training

 * Fill out the Orientation Leader Application. Applications are available online or in the Student Resource Center 
 * Ask two Boston Conservatory Faculty/Staff members to fill out the Reference Form.
 * Schedule an interview with Andy Chau
 * The interview sign-up sheet will be posted in the student center.
