Emergency Medical Care

If you are seriously injured or very sick and in need of emergency medical care you should go to a hospital emergency room immediately. If you are in a life threatening situation and unable to transport yourself to the hospital, you should call 911 and have an ambulance transport you. It is best not to use a hospital emergency room or ambulance in a non-urgent situation. There is usually a long waiting time at hospitals for non-urgent patients and you are often required to pay more money than if you are seen in a doctor’s office. Some local hospitals include Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Sports Medicine Services

A sign-up sheet is available on the bulletin board next to this room. Students should sign up for appointments in advance. This service is available to students of all divisions and is included in student fees.

Alexander Technique 1 on 1 Sessions

Students can take two free Alexander Technique sessions. The sessions deal with performance and practice issues; treat/prevent stress and injury; and release/manage tension.

The Alexander Technique helps students understand their movement patterns and how to improve performance and comfort. They also find practical ways to manage everyday stress.

Students can sign up for one or two half hour individual sessions. You are encouraged to sign up for both. Two sessions are definitely better than one!

Massage Therapy Services

Massage Therapy will be provided through Jennifer Hunt, LMT, of Sanctuary Massage. Jennifer will be on campus Tuesdays from 8:30AM-6PM. Students may book half-hour appointments, and can receive a maximum of four appointments per academic year. Appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Massage Therapy Cancellation Policy:

If you have a scheduled massage therapy appointment and you cannot make it, you must give 24-hour notice of cancellation. If a student is a no-call/no-show or does not cancel within our 24-hour cancellation policy for 2 scheduled appointments, they will not be able to book anymore appointments during that academic year.
