Carroll - Orchestral Repertoire for the Snare Drum

Author: Raynor Carroll

Title: Orchestral Repertoire for the Snare Drum

Description: Raynor Carroll, principal percussionist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, has compiled this book of some of the most commonly asked excerpts on the snare drum portion of an orchestral audition. The book contains the entire snare drum part for each piece, and each part is re-notated in an easily readable format. Because the parts are not the originals, a very few discrepancies do exist.

The pieces included in the book are:

  • Bloch, Ernest – Schelomo
  • Borodin, Alexander – Polovetsian Dances from "Prince Igor"
  • Debussy, Claude – Nocturnes
