Current Job Openings:
The Boston Conservatory is seeking an Annual Fund Coordinator to help develop and implement an effective fund-raising program to meet established Annual Fund goals. Reporting to the Director of Development, this key member of the Annual Fund team will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the program and meeting annual fund goals. This is a full-time, 12 month position.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answers in-person and telephone reference questions.
- Coordinate the implementation of four Annual Fund campaigns (Alumni, Parents, friends, employees) and work of the Annual Fund team
- Conduct research and manage direct mail, on-line giving, and telemarketing plans that engage new donors for the Annual Fund
- Develop strategies to ensure the effectiveness of targeted campaigns, and encouraging a regular pattern of sustained growth
- Co-manage the Annual Fund Phonathon program
- Oversee annual budget, including budget tracking and benchmarking
- Assist in the cultivation and stewardship of new or renewing donors as assigned
- Solicit, write, and edit material for Annual Fund web pages and publications
- Ensure that the Annual Fund program is integrated into and complements institutional goals
- Assist at donor-related events, often on weeknights or weekends
- Provide support to the Director of Development and perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required and minimum 2 years related work in an educational or non-profit setting
- Solid experience in computer and information technology or database management preferred (Sage Fundraising 50 database)
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement programs
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to work independently; excellent attention to detail required
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills a plus

The Director of Admissions manages the entire undergraduate and graduate admissions and recruiting process, from lead generation to matriculation; supervises the admissions staff; and serves as a key member of the enrollment management team in developing and implementing an enrollment management plan that supports the mission and goals of The Boston Conservatory. The Director of Admissions reports to the Chief Academic Officer (Dean) of the Conservatory.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements a strategic regional, national, and international recruitment plan that is informed by an analysis of market and enrollment trends;
- Collaborates with faculty and Division Directors to meet enrollment goals;
- Meets or exceeds enrollment goals utilizing significant campus and off-campus networks of alumni, parents, and friends of the Conservatory;
- Participates as a key member of the financial aid team to administer merit and need-based awards;
- Collaborates with Marketing and Academic Affairs to develop compelling content for recruitment communications, website, print publications, advertising, etc.;
- Represents the Conservatory through appropriate professional conferences and meetings;
- Develops and oversees the admissions operating budget;
- Other duties and functions as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred;
- 5-7 years of demonstrated experience and expertise in the administration and management of recruitment programs;
- Demonstrated ability in the areas of staff selection and supervision; fostering staff development; conducting staff assessment; and developing accountability;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and database and other current software applications appropriate to the admissions field;
- Knowledge of, or experience in, the performing arts is highly desirable;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills a must;
- Commitment to excellent customer service.

The Boston Conservatory is seeking a part-time Evening Supervisor who will serve as the person in charge of the library during the evening and some weekend hours. (5-11 p.m., Monday-Thursday; Sunday 4-10 p.m.) The Evening Supervisor manages student workers, assists with circulation, answers reference questions, and oversees the closing duties at the end of the evening. The Evening Supervisor also manages the periodical collection and provides assistance with the processing of course reserves. The person in this position works during the academic year and some weeks during the summer. This is a non-exempt (hourly-paid) position with limited benefits.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answers in-person and telephone reference questions.
- Delegates projects to student workers and ensures desk coverage as scheduled.
- Works closely with the Public Services Librarian to ensure coordination on all aspects of circulation services.
- Assists patrons with sound equipment and computer usage as appropriate.
- Resolves fines and overdues issues.
- Assists in the training of new student workers.
- Oversees the check-in, updating of files, shelving, and maintaining of subscriptions for periodicals.
- Provides assistance in the processing of course reserves.
- Offers evening tours of the library during orientation and other events. Organizes and maintains materials in off-site storage.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in music.
- Experience working in an academic library.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Supervisory skills and demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Commitment to working evening/weekend schedule.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s degree from an accredited program in library science or current student enrolled in a library science degree program.
- Experience working in the public services area of libraries.
- Knowledge of one or more European languages.
- Knowledge of dance and theater arts.
