Current Job Openings:
The Boston Conservatory seeks an energetic self-starter for the Development Associate position. This individual will provide professional administrative and database support and organizational skills to the Development Office and current capital campaign staff. The Development Associate will work closely with an eight-member Development Office team. This is a full-time, exempt position.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
(Database and Budget Support)
- Coordinate the Development Office gift receipt and acknowledgement process; serve as back-up for gift entry process
- Provide administrative support to the Annual Fund program
- Conduct prospect research for the campaign and annual fund
- Manage budget tracking and invoice process for Development Office
- Import information on new students, alumni, parents, etc. into the fund-raising database
- Organize and maintain reference information for Development Officer use
(Development Office Administration and Support)
- Oversee Work Study program for the office, including hiring, monitoring, work assignments, etc.
- Manage critical administrative functions such as online giving, equipment use, supplies and inventory, prospect profiles, etc.
- Maintain updated fund-raising materials for annual fund and campaign solicitation
- Schedule, organize and document Development Office staff meetings; follow-up on action items
- Work with Alumni & Parent Relations, providing support for constituent activities and projects
- Provide support for special activities and events as needed
- Organize and maintain press clippings, printed materials, and other archival documents
- Assist with travel plans and perform other tasks as needed
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required and minimum two years of successful work experience in fund-raising
- Accurate data entry skills; proficiency with Microsoft Suite and donor research software
- Proven ability to complete complex tasks accurately and in a timely manner; maintain confidentiality; and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
- Personal knowledge of/experience in the performing arts or higher education fields desirable
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and achieve objectives
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
- Creativity, flexibility, and sense of humor a must

The Director of Admissions manages the entire undergraduate and graduate admissions and recruiting process, from lead generation to matriculation; supervises the admissions staff; and serves as a key member of the enrollment management team in developing and implementing an enrollment management plan that supports the mission and goals of The Boston Conservatory. The Director of Admissions reports to the Chief Academic Officer (Dean) of the Conservatory.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements a strategic regional, national, and international recruitment plan that is informed by an analysis of market and enrollment trends;
- Collaborates with faculty and Division Directors to meet enrollment goals;
- Meets or exceeds enrollment goals utilizing significant campus and off-campus networks of alumni, parents, and friends of the Conservatory;
- Participates as a key member of the financial aid team to administer merit and need-based awards;
- Collaborates with Marketing and Academic Affairs to develop compelling content for recruitment communications, website, print publications, advertising, etc.;
- Represents the Conservatory through appropriate professional conferences and meetings;
- Develops and oversees the admissions operating budget;
- Other duties and functions as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred;
- 5-7 years of demonstrated experience and expertise in the administration and management of recruitment programs;
- Demonstrated ability in the areas of staff selection and supervision; fostering staff development; conducting staff assessment; and developing accountability;
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and database and other current software applications appropriate to the admissions field;
- Knowledge of, or experience in, the performing arts is highly desirable;
- Outstanding interpersonal skills a must;
- Commitment to excellent customer service.
