The Garden
The Garden is both the name of an annual literary journal of work by Conservatory students and the name of the club that promotes literary life on campus. Members of The Garden plan and organize a series of evening Open Mic events, called NAKED TONGUES. These events often include visiting poets and performers, reading of creative writing by students, and free food and drink. Editors for The Garden are sought from all three divisions and from different years to make the journal as representative as possible. The journal is published in late April and given out at a final Coffee House event at the end of the year.
Grassroots Yoga
This group’s purpose is to offer yoga classes to all students who wish to participate. Whether you’re new to yoga or have taken classes for years, as long as you’re interested, Grassroots encourages you to take a class. International Student Association (ISA)
The International Student Association is open to all students interested in learning about and celebrating international cultures. The ISA advises the Director of International Student Affairs and plans Worldfest programs and other events celebrating the international community of The Boston Conservatory.
Music Educators National Conference (MENC)
Collegiate Chapters of MENC: The National Association for Music Education are active throughout the US and abroad. The Conservatory chapter provides opportunities for all students to be involved with the professional organization for music educators (MENC), and receive benefits such as the monthly national journal and the quarterly Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) stat journal. All students interested in music education and the teaching of music are encouraged to join and contribute to the chapter. Semester activities include creating projects, presenting guest speakers and workshops, attending the MMEA All-State conference, participating in outreach activities, and learning to use various online music education resources.

This Brotherhood was founded in Boston in 1898 for “the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit, the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students, the advancement of music in America, and a loyalty to the Alma Mater.” The Fraternity, which currently has over 80,000 living members, seeks to advance music by developing fraternal relationships between musical students and supporting schools of music throughout the country.
Sigma Alpha Iota (SAI)
Sigma Alpha Iota International Women’s Fraternity (SAI) was founded in 1903 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
