The Residence Life Staff

The Director of Housing and Student Life is responsible for all aspects of residence hall life. The Director is a professional administrator whose job it is to provide a safe, comfortable place to live that is conducive to academic achievement while promoting a sense of community and personal growth. The Director of Housing and Student Life supervises one Residence Director (RD) and four Resident Assistants (RAs).

The Residence Director works with the Director to oversee daily operations in the residence halls. The RD also advises the Director, provides support for RA staff, and serves as RA for one building.

RAs are students who are responsible for the overall supervision and leadership of one residence hall. RAs are selected through an application process and are extensively trained to serve as student leaders and peer educators.

RA duties include developing educational and social programming, mentoring students, being a role model, problem solving, counseling and referring, and documenting inappropriate behaviors or incidents that violate The Boston Conservatory policies. RAs also conduct routine health and safety inspections of the residence halls. 

RAs are the people to contact in an emergency. Please utilize them as advisors, sources of information, and conflict mediators, and for campus concerns. There is an RA on duty daily from 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. and 24 hours a day on Saturday & Sunday.  If you unable to reach the RA on call please call Boston Conservatory Public Safety at 617-912-9191.
