At Boston Conservatory at Berklee, we are radically redefining theater education by cultivating authenticity, agency, and diversity in all forms. We are interested in originality and individuality, not types. We welcome students with diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences to audition, and to ensure access, we participate in the Musical Theater Common Pre-Screen (MTCP) process.

Each piece should be filmed/uploaded as a separate piece of media—no continuous videos please.

Live Audition Requirements

B.F.A. in Theater: Musical Theater

Audition requirements for singing/acting for an online audition are the same as those for in-person auditions. The online audition format for the dance call requires pre-recorded material and a live online component.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee is committed to providing an enjoyable and valuable in-person audition experience. Your audition will include acting, singing, and dance components. The acting and singing portion will be combined in one session. You may choose to perform some of the same material from your pre-screen or different material. There is no musicianship/theory exam or sight-reading at the auditions. Please bring two copies of your headshot and résumé to your audition.

Online and live audition registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis as applications are submitted. We audition in multiple cities nationwide. This is your opportunity to audition us, too. If you come to Boston, your day will include an information session with members of the Theater Division leadership team, a Q&A with current students and faculty, and a campus tour. Please let us know if we can provide advice about accommodations or restaurants. If you are staying overnight, we are happy to recommend Boston-area theater productions which may feature our faculty, students, or alumni.
