Student Health Insurance

The state of Massachusetts requires all full-time and three-quarter-time students to be enrolled in a qualifying health insurance plan. This may be the student's own plan or the Student Health Insurance Plan available through The Boston Conservatory. Students must either purchase the school-sponsored health plan or show proof of comparable coverage through another U.S. insurance carrier.

All full-time and three-quarter-time students are automatically enrolled in, and charged for, the Conservatory's Student Health Insurance Plan.

The Student Health Insurance Plan for the Spring 2016 semester costs $1106.00. This charge provides coverage from January 1 - August 31, 2016.

If you wish to enroll in coverage for a spouse/partner and/or other dependents, please email the Director of Wellness Services.

Waiving the Student Health Insurance Plan

To waive the Conservatory plan, you must submit a waiver form. The deadline for new Spring 2016 students is January 4th, 2016. We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance carrier to confirm that the plan provides full coverage for all types of medical care while in Massachusetts. Many out-of-state plans provide emergency service coverage only.

International Students

If you are an international student and are interested in waiving the Student Health Insurance Plan, please contact the Director of Wellness Services to discuss your situation.
